“Meghadūta”—Kalidasa’s timeless ode to longing, nature, and the ethereal journey of a cloud across the the vast, poetic landscapes of 5th century India inspires Magicsimsim to create fantasy-inspired vistas that seem to shimmer with ancient whispers and modern enchantment.
The vivid imagery of rivers, mountains, and blooming groves that the cloud traverses together with the underlying emotional depth gives rise to exquisitely detailed heirlooms that evoke both nostalgia and wonder in modern interiors and are a bridge between Kalidasa’s 5th-century poetry and contemporary bejeweled art .
Originally conceptualised by the Magicsimsim art studio led by creative director Ms Simi Biswas and executed on a pure silk base, using a cornucopia of heritage hand embroidery techniques like Aari , Zardozi , Pitta, Marori by inter generational master artisans, “Meghadūta” blurs the boundaries between surface ornamentation and jewellery creating precious heirlooms for future generations.
